Looking through my kitchen window the combination of colours looked fantastic – definitely a quilt inspiration moment! The vivid orange poppies looked fantastic against the pale lilac/blue of the iris and there seemed to be every shade of green imaginable – very Kaffe Fassett.

I've just got back to Cornwall after over a week away and everything has grown so much. What a lovely time of year. The lambs are getting very big – it is just like a stampede when they all come running over to me. The shearer is coming in on Sunday and then I am sending the fleeces off to be cleaned, spun and turned into balls of wonderful natural brown wool from the Manx and natural black from the Hebridean. Plans for that will follow!! Margaret

Our Workshop Programme for September to December 2010 is now out so don't leave it too late to book up. We have decided to reduce the number to eight for any workshop where we feel you need a bit of extra space.

Here is Margaret Hughes with a quilt from one of the workshops she is giving. This one is Pick and Mix and an excellent one for a beginner or if you need a quilt in a hurry. Her workshops fill up very quickly so if you want to get on one get your skates on!
