Living by the river we see a lot of kingfishers and apparently with the small amount of rainfall making the river being low, many more nests have survived with young so this year is a record year for kingfishers.

This did not prepare us for the last three days when we have had to cover our back door with clingfilm to try and stop a kingfisher either attacking his reflection to defend his territory or courting a partner he sees in the glass. We thought it was the former until he turned up with a fish in his mouth tonight obviously as a tempting gift! What a spectacular looking bird though.

Just hot off the sewing machine this is the first quilt made with the new Multi-Size 45/60 from Creative Grids. As you can see it is still not quilted but I am heading up to Dorking at first light tomorrow so that Nicky can get it on the longarm machine. The centre of the quilt uses the 60 degree part of the ruler with the border being made using the 45 degree part. It is soooooo…. clever. We shall have it at our booth at the NEC so do come and have a look. Kits will be available – we have used the gorgeous Martinique jelly roll from Moda and we will of course have the Multi-Size 45/60 together with the Multi-Size 45/90.   And yes it uses just one jelly roll plus 1 metre of border fabric.

Don't forget – if you need us to bring anything special for you to the NEC just give us a ring. We can't bring everything and we don't want to disappoint anyone.
