Block by Block Machine Quilt as You Go is a quilt first, then assemble technique. This is a brand new and exciting course which will boost confidence and achieve a huge amount of satisfaction when machine quilting a large quilt using your domestic sewing machine.
Over the course, you will learn to sew and quilt as you go, how to assemble your quilted blocks and how to add borders to an already quilted top using your overcast foot. This foot usually comes with your machine and often sits there unused and gathering dust – we will show you what a great sewing foot it can be!
You will also learn a variety of machine quilting techniques using sewing feet such as the walking foot, the free motion foot and the popular ruler foot. You will be shown how to use quilting rulers with the focus on the brilliant Taj ruler designed by the renowned quilter, Angela Walters.
The seven sessions are a chance to practise and add to your machine quilting skills. The techniques and tools you will learn about will enable you to make machine quilitng a much more satisfying process.
At the end of the seven sessions, not only will you have made a beautiful quilt, you will have increased your sewing and quilting confidence and gained new techniques for assembly of your quilts.

Classes are held at our shop in Beare Green. There is FREE parking in front of the courtyard plus side roads. Entrance to the workshops is through the front of the shop via the courtyard. Classes run from 10.00 - 15.30 unless otherwise stated. Our shop is open from 9.30am on workshop days.

Morning and afternoon refreshments are provided. Please bring a packed lunch. There is a cafe and a Londis newsagent shop nearby but please note that the cafe is changing management so do give us a ring ahead of your class to check that it is open.
You will be emailed a list of requirements once you have booked your space.
We have Janome machines you can use for FREE but you are welcome to bring your own. In some classes, such as machine quilting, it is recommended to bring your own machine and you will be advised of this in your requirements. Please remember to bring your manual in case we need it to refer to. We provide cutting mats.
Payment will be taken for the workshop when you make your booking to ensure your place on the class. A refund will only be given if fourteen days’ notice of cancellation is received, less a £10 charge for each workshop place cancelled.
If there is insufficient support for any workshop and the workshop has to be cancelled, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and in this instance a full refund will of course be given. By signing up to our workshop, you agree to our cancellation policy.
