Jeremy’s Quilt

A few years ago we blogged about the quilt that Chris (our longarm quilter at The Quilt Room) made for her daughter Gemma when she went off to uni. Now….a few years on and this is the quilt that she has made for her son Jeremy. What is so special about this quilt is that it is made from Jeremy’s old shirts (and a few of Chris’ husband too!). What a great idea. This was inspired by one of The Quilt Room workshops given by Gill Turley that Chris attended. On the back of the quilt Chris has put in snippets of the shirts used and the dates. What a lovely quilt and one that will really be treasured.

  • Hi, I am very interested to see this quilt that Chris started at my “Take Ten Shirts” workshop. A lovely quilt Chris and a very nice idea on the back.

  • Hi, Chris!

I am so glad you told me to have a look at your photograph of the quilt you made, inspired by Gill’s class - which we both attended. It is absolutely gorgeous! I love the design - works so well with the fabric! Not to mention the wonderful and clever label you made for the back… adorable! Your son is blessed to have a mum who made this for him, with much love and care, I’m sure!

It was good to see you all! Lots of love. Catherine x

PS: It is such a lovely pic and quilt that I have pinned it to my Pinterest Pinboard on the web! Hope you don’t mind…*
